This is a blog about two semi old dudes sailing from Portsmouth, VA to Cape May, NJ by way of the Chesapeake Bay (and assorted other waterways).
And a little about these guys:
John: A retired retailer from Texas with a passion for fishing, sailing and the ability to tell a great story. His boat, a 29 foot Columbia christened "Liberty" shows it's age, a fitting description for us. John's goal is to take Liberty from Texas to Lake Superior via the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) and the Erie Canal. Quite a trip which so far has taken about three years with Liberty being winterized in various states then launched again the following Spring.
Rob: Owner of Bing Bicycle Company, a small custom bicycle business in Richmond, VA. He is an avid sailor with a passion for doing those things that perhaps he should have second thoughts about. Answering John's ad on Craiglist for a needed crew member, he now completes the pair of "semi old guys" taking on this Chesapeake adventure.
